The chakra system

Goes back to ancient eastern masters.  Each chakra is associated with a particular area of the body and a color of the spectrum. Through our chakras, we transmit and receive physical, emotional, and spiritual energy.  Precious and Semi-Precious Stones are used at chakra centers for clearing, revitalizing, and healing.  The ideal is to have all chakra centers clear, balanced, and vitalized for optimal well-being.  There are 7 major Chakra centers of the physical body, where vital energy flows and intersects. The Base Chakra, Sacral Chakra, Solar Plexus Chakra, Heart Chakra, Throat Chakra, Brow or Third Eye Chakra,  and the Crown Chakra.

1st Chakra - (Red) - Base/Root - Associated with the earth. Grounding, self-esteem, physical body, survival, past impressions, stability, security.  Location: genital area, base of the spine.  Health: this chakra connected to feet, ankles, knees and groin that support the upward flow of energy from the earth.

Associated stones: Carnelian, Red Jasper, Black Tourmaline, Smokey Quarts.

2nd Chakra  (Yellow or Orange) - Sacral - Associated with water. Sexuality, desires, physical vitality.  Location:  about one inch below the navel.  Health: colitis, irritable bowel sydrome, bladder tumors, lower back pain.

Associated stones: Orange Calcite, Topaz, Moonstone, Fire Agate, Aquamarine.

3rd Chakra  (Yellow) - Solar Plexus -  Associated with fire. Draws in solar radiance. Personal power, will, perseverance, ambition, intellect. Location: just below the breastbone. Health: Digestive problems, diabetes and cancer, but most of all stress.

Associated stones: Citrine, Tigereye, Golden Topaz

 4th Chakra  ( Green or Pink) - Heart - Associated with air. Love center, controls unconditional feelings and thoughts, associations, relations and compassion, surrender, balance, acceptance, devotion.  Location: center of the chest.  Health: heart disease, disturbance of heart rhythm, muscular, valvular and aortic disease and infections.

Associated Stones: Rose Quarts, Rhodonite, Rhodocrosite, Garnet, Peridot, Adventurine

5th Chakra  (Blue) - Throat - Associated with ether/akasha. Communication, creativity, expression, higher will.  Location: at the neck above collar bone.  Health: Graves disease, hyperthyroidism, exhaustion, digestive and weight problems, sore throat and neck pain.

 Associated stones: Turquiose, Crysocolla, Aquamarine, Blue Topaz

6th Chakra (dark blue or white) - Third Eye/Brow - Associated with ether. Psychic energy center, intuition, dreaming, inner vision, comprehension.  Location: centered above the eyebrows.  Health: Headaches, eyes and ears.

 Associated stones:  Amethyst, Lapis Lazuli,  Sodalite

7th Chakra  (clear or purple) - Crown - enlightenment, understanding, spiritual gateway, higher self, God consciousness, spiritual intelligence. Location: top of the head.  Health: Headaches, epilepsy, paralysis, Parkinson disease, high blood pressure.
